Ski Mont Blanc or Everest for Charity

With a vertical drop of 532 metres, the challenge will focus on the green, blue or red pistes which run adjacent to La Tania’s main gondola, dropping from a height of 1900 metres to 1368 metres. Average skiers can ski the height of Everest comfortably in 6-7 hours skiing, and a warm-up event the day before will allow participants to ski the height of Mont Blanc which involves 3-4 hours skiing. The 3 Valleys ski app will log the distances covered and certificates will be given out to people who complete one of the challenges.

To participate, skiers and boarders raising funds can register for free up until Monday the 24th of March. Alternatively, people can register on the morning of the challenge days at the reception of the Hotel Montana - located near the bottom of the main gondola lift. People registering on the morning of the challenge will be asked to make a minimum donation of 10 Euros to Ski 4 Cancer.

Everyone with a valid lift pass is welcome to take part. It is hoped that skiers and boarders from resorts across the Three Valleys will join in and raise money for this great cause. Alpine Elements are currently offering a week’s stay in La Tania, staying at the Hotel Montana (Mar 23-30) for only £715pp (including lift pass, flights, transfers and half-board catered accommodation). There will be awards on offer for the best fancy dress (and others), as well as the chance to win some great prizes in a charity raffle. Alpine Elements will also be running a ‘happy hour’ promotion on both days of the challenge at the Hotel Montana’s terrace bar, the proceeds from which will be donated to Ski 4 Cancer.
