Ski Season Opening Dates Val Thorens

Discover the latest Val Thorens lift opening & closing dates

The extensive network of Val Thorens lifts are open both in summer and winter. Find out winter opening dates of the Val Thorens lifts to help you plan your holiday. Snow cover permitting, the Three Valleys ski area is scheduled to open from:

Winter Season Dates 2020/21
Following French government announcement on 20th January 2021, the ski-lifts are closed indefinitely. We therefore do not anticipate the lifts will open for Winter 2020/21 as this is economically unviable for the lift companies at this point
Ski resorts are OPEN but lifts remain closed; there is a national curfew from 18h-6h currently in France, with tighter measure likely from end of January
Tuesday 15th December 2020 to Friday 23rd April 2021

Val Thorens which sits at a higher elevation is scheduled to open from 5th December 2020 to 9th May 2021
Courchevel 5th December 2020 to 23rd April 2021
Meribel & Mottaret 5th December 2020 to 23rd April 2021
Les Menuires 5th December 2020 to 23rd April 2021
Brides Les Bains 12th December 2020 to 16th April 2021

As normal, during early and late season, a reduced ski area will be in operation depending on snow cover. Lift pass prices usually reflect this reduction in the skiable area. All lift dates and times are subject to change due to adverse weather and events.

The lifts usually open at 09:00, and start to close around 16:20 (the time varies for each lift). From February onward the lifts stay open for a further half hour. You can find the exact closing times for each main lift at the lift stations.

Season start and end dates may vary slightly as they are dependent on snow conditions, and there may be a reduced ski area in operation if snow cover is insufficient.
