2. Café Snesko Bar

Location: Val Thorens

A Val Thorens institution going from strength to strength with each season. Although a Danish bar through and through, its reputation has steadily grown with all nationalities and it has gained recognition as one of the very best après-ski bars outside Austria.

Don’t be put off by how crowded it may look, service is still unbelievably fast and the busier it is, the greater the atmosphere seems to be.

The enthusiasm of the bar staff is legendary and a must see if you are staying in Val Thorens. Come in and see how the Scandinavians party!

3. La Folie Douce Bar

Location: Val Thorens

This renowned après-ski venue styles itself as 'the dance floor at the top of the world'. They can't be far wrong when they are situated at a height of 2600m.

This is where the majority of skiers and boarders will head at the end of a great day on the mountains to party. It is easy to access being based right on the piste just under the Plein Sud chairlift. They have live music daily from 14:00 to 17:30.

They have planned everything to ensure that you enjoy the bar as much as they do, providing comfortable outdoor sofas with huge pillows, blankets and duvets in case the temperature drops.

Don't worry, whatever the weather the beer will keep flowing, the outside bar has specially heated-column pumps to stop the beer from freezing in sub-zero temperatures!

As the Folie Douce is based on the eastern slopes it gets the best of the evening sun so you can continue to soak up the rays on their large terrace. Its location also makes it a popular lunch spot and there is the choice of either the great value self-service La Petite Cuisine restaurant and the more fine dining experience of La Fruitiere.
