Val Thorens Dump Alert: 30th October 2018
This morning, we woke up to a blanket of snow in Val Thorens. Around 10cm have fallen at resort level with over 20cm high up.
Winter has arrived in Val Thorens with a good first dump of snow on Sunday followed by some heavy snowfall overnight Monday into Tuesday amounting to around 20cm. The previously autumnal looking mountains are now covered nicely with their winter colour, snowy white.
We have seen temperatures drop significantly over the past few days and today is the first chill of this winter dropping down to minus six. We have more snow forecast over the next few days and with temperatures staying low, this is a good first cover for the resort. With Val Thorens opening in 18 days, the timing could not be better. Lifts are scheduled to open on November 17th. Just over two weeks to go!
The forecast is showing more snow this week with the sun shining over the weekend. Roll on the season!
