With the rest of the Three Vallees set to open shortly after on December 8th, get your first taste of skiing for the 2018/19 winter season as Val Thorens spins back into action on the weekend of November 24th.

With massive discounts on ski passes, and plenty of early season snow to play on, it's a great time to get to Val Thorens and stretch those ski legs. Pictures released by the lift company of the 2300m altitude resort (the highest in Europe) are promising, with planned opening of the Funitel Peclet, Moraine cable car, Portette, Cascades, and Two Lakes chairlifts, the Musaraigne, Campagnols, Castor, and Pollux magic carpets, and the Cairn cable car.

During the Val Thorens launch weekend, the resort offer the opportunity for visitors to test the new latest ski equipment. This event is absolutely free and has really picked up pace over the past few years. For 2018, this event will include brands such as Atomic, Burton, Dynafit, Rossignol, Salomon, Smith, 686, Rome SDS, K2, Bataleon, DC Shoes, Ride and Oakley. November might not be your first choice for a ski break, but with quiet slopes, opening week prices, and the opportunity to test out new equipment, it could be one to add to the holiday list.
