Early opening of Val Thorens ski area 2016

The ski season is on in Val Thorens from November 19th 2016

It's been snowing in Val Thorens non-stop last week, with 63cm accumulated in resort and 130cm at the top, so it's time for the fun to begin! The ski resort will open on Saturday, November 19th for the first time in the 2016/2017 season and will remain open until May 1st.

70% of the lifts are scheduled to open this Saturday from 09:00 to 16:45, with the lift company working hard to open even more areas throughout the month of November.

Lift passes from Saturday 19th November to Friday 9th December will cost €40 for adults and €32 for children. According to Frédéric Bonnevie, director of Val Thorens' snow patrol team, on Saturday there will be "70cm of snow on the slopes and access to 3 summits at 3,000m."

The official opening of Val Thorens ski area will be on Saturday November 26th with a special event, 'La Grande Premiere'. But, if you're here on Saturday, it's time to get those first turns of the season in...
