1. Des 3 Vallees Hotel

Thi hotel exudes Alpine charm and cosiness at the heart of the Val Thorens ski resort. Family-run since 1979, you are sure of a warm welcome and an enjoyable stay.

The hotel offers 28 personalised en-suite rooms and suites, as well as 4 studio apartments; all comfortably furnished and well equipped with some rooms able to accommodate a family of 5. All accommodation has satellite TV, DVD, telephone, radio, WiFi, and safe as standard. Many rooms also have a balcony.

There's a small sauna, as well as a steam room, jacuzzi, relaxation are and showers to unwind in at the end of a long day on the mountain too.

2. Koh I Nor Hotel

With an imposing diamond-shaped glass structure, the hotel boasts natural light everywhere. They offer luxury suites, rooms and apartments, as well as a large spa and gourmet restaurants.

There are 63 rooms and suites, 35 apartments, three restaurants, two pools, a lounge bar and a great 800m2 spa, as well as a panoramic terrace and a ski shop where you can rent all your equipment. Its position perched atop the highest ski resort in Europe offers an impressive sight, with an uninterrupted view over Val Thorens.

The suites, located on the seventh floor, have the best views. All rooms have designer lighting, refined furnishings and modern technology in a soft atmosphere with light tones.

3. Pashmina Hotel

This luxury hotel is located at 2,350m altitude in Val Thorens and gives you access to the 3 Valleys ski area, the largest in the world.

There is free WiFi access throughout the hotel, a library with lounge and fireplace, business centre, a bar with a sunny south-facing terrace and a spa with wellness area and treatments. 

You can hire ski equipment from the Goitschel Sports ski shop, and store your gear overnight in the ski lockers which come with boot dryers and direct access to the slopes.

The hotels offers a free shuttle bus to the village and there's a covered car park if you are self-driving.

Whilst staying at the hotel you can choose from a variety of rooms and suites, a 'super suite', a chalet-apartment or the unique 'igloo pod' room which opens out onto the sky!

4. Le Val Thorens Hotel

The hotel was fully renovated in 2021 and has stunning views of the slopes and surrounding mountains.

The rooms have been decorated with contemporary wooden furniture, and equipped with flat screen TVs, WiFi, bathrooms, separate WC and balconies. The diffferent room options available are as follows:

  • The Privilege rooms can accommodate 2 adults & 2 children under 12 and feature double beds or 2 single beds, and bunk beds for 1 or 2 children. This room is fitted with modern furniture, bathrooms with showers, separate toilet, hairdryer, TV, minibar, safe and balcony.
  • The Comfort rooms can accommodate 2 adults and feature a double or twin bed, Scandinavian-style furniture, bathrooms with showers, separate toilets, hairdryer, TV, minibar, safe and balcony with views over either the village or the slopes.
  • The Superior rooms can accommodate 2 adults and have a connecting balcony, bathroom and flat-screen TV.
  • The Superior Family rooms can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child under 12 years-old. The're fitted with a double bed and a sofa bed suitable for a child under 12. They feature Scandinavian-style furniture, bathroom with bath, separate toilet, minibar, hairdryer, TV, safe and balcony with views over either the village or the slopes.
  • The Suite on the top floor can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child under 12. It features a large bedroom with double bed and separate lounge area with sofa bed. It includes a bathroom with shower, separate WC, minibar, hairdryer, TV, safe and balcony giving exceptional panoramic views over the slopes.

5. La Bouitte Hotel, Hameau de St Marcel

The name of the hotel, "La Bouitte", means little house in the Savoyard dialect. This is a gastronomic hotel with a Michelin starred restaurant.

Besides the great restaurant, this traditional Savoyard hotel offers a fully-equipped spa. You can experience traditional Savoie wellbeing techniques inspired by nature, such as a bath with milk and mountain honey. To overcome the winter cold, there's nothing like a hay treatment with mountain water and aromatic herbs.

With just 15 rooms and suites, this is a very cosy hotel. They are all decorated with stone and wood, typical of the Savoyard architecture, even featuring 17th century furniture, but with all modern commodities.

The hotel offers breakfast buffet in their dining room, or continental breakfast in your room. There is also a covered car park available.

6. Altapura Hotel

This hotel opened in November 2012. Situated at 2300m, it has been inspired by Nordic design and offers 88 contemporary rooms, all with spectacular views.

It is part of the Sibuet Hotels and Spa portfolio, founded by luxury French hotelier and interior designer, Jocelyne Sibuet. The 1,000sq m (10,800sq ft) Pure Altitude spa has seven treatment rooms and has been designed with the skier in mind, offering a wide selection of treatments dedicated to muscular relaxation, physical preparation and recuperation.

The hotel offers three restaurants serving a mix of haute cuisine, fondues and hearty dishes from the rotisserie. Other adrenaline fuelled activities are on offer at the hotel, including snow driving, tobogganing on the longest run in Europe, dog sledding, glacier hiking and airboarding. The hotel is open throughout the winter season opening of the resort.

Active ingredients of Edelweiss and other mountain minerals are used in Sibuet Hotels and Spa’s own product brand, Pure Altitude Spa. The relaxation area includes the Nordic Spiral, which alternates dry and humid heat, punctuated by waterfall showers, a tepidarium, snow treatments and culminating in an Igloo. The extremes of temperatures stimulate the blood oxygenation, minimising the aches and pains of a day on the slopes. There is also a heated pool.

7. Fitz Roy Hotel

The highest luxury hotel in Europe, situated at 2300m! Spectacular mountain views are guaranteed from this superior elevation.

Facing the foot of the pistes, this hotel is perfectly located both for the ski slopes and the resort centre of Val Thorens.

The 72 rooms are elegant and comfortable. Clad in traditional materials of wood and stone, the ambience is that of mountain life with more than a touch of refined comfort. All rooms have balconies overlooking the mountains.

The hotel proposes 6 types of room, suited to single guests, couples, families and groups. These range from Superior rooms through to Privilege rooms and Suites. Guests also have the choice of whether they enjoy views of the village or the slopes from their room. All rooms have a telephone, free Wi-Fi internet access, safe, minibar and hairdryer. All guests have use of a ski locker.

They also offer a 24-hour reception and their staff will be happy to deal with any requests or enquiries you may have. The concierge service can arrange ski lessons, ski passes, activities, babysitting, taxis, helicopter rides and more - just ask! There is even a ski shop inside the hotel where you can hire your equipment.

8. Le Hameau du Kashmir Hotel

More than just a hotel, the Hameau du Kashmir comprises a hotel, a tourist residence and two restaurants, built around a central courtyard. It enjoys an open sunny exposition with fabulous panoramic views and of course, ski in/ski out access.

This high-quality hotel and residence offers a range of different sized suites within its complex, all of which have been beautifully decorated to bring the colours and ambience of Kashmir to Val Thorens. Lush fabrics and vibrant colours blend seamlessly with the natural wood and stone elements typical of the local area, creating a refined and contemporary mountain retreat.

The suites can be booked on a full or half-board basis or as self-contained units if you prefer to cater for yourself on holiday. Regardless of the option chosen, all guests have access to the hotel facilities which include an indoor swimming pool, relaxation area with three saunas (traditional, infrared and a Russian "Bagna"), fitness room, massage room, resident's lounge bar and restaurant, covered parking and private ski locker. Their attentive team is also on hand to assist with booking ski passes, ski lessons and equipment rental. 

This hotel and residence is a great option for a group of friends looking for high-quality accommodation with instant access to the slopes. 9. Hotel Marielle

This hotel is ideally situated at the foot of the slopes in the heart of Val Thorens ski resort.

The hotel features 83 bright, spacious rooms. You're able to choose a category that suits your needs and preferences: Classic, Superior, Family or Superior Family.

The spa at the hotel features a sauna, steam room and relaxation room - it's the perfect place to unwind after a day on the slopes.

The hotel's restaurant is a great option for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can also order room service at breakfast if you'd prefer.

10. Fahrenheit Seven Hotel

One of the best location in Val Thorens, ski in and ski out with amazing views of the mountains, Fahrenheit Seven is a new philosophy of hospitality offering a home from home ambience with a vintage twist.

This large hotel has 109 rooms and underwent a huge redevelopment in winter 2016, focusing on design & comfort. The room sizes range from 23m2 to 54m2 and can sleep up to four guests. Each one has either a view over the slopes including the famous ‘Cime de Caron’ or over the main resort.  

The hotel has been geared up for families and groups of friends with additional beds available, interconnecting rooms and family suites. Ski school and kindergarten are on the doorstep and the hotel can also help arrange childcare or babysitters if needed. 

Get your day off to a good start and make the most of the hotel breakfast buffet which starts at 07:00. It's the perfect way to fuel up for a busy day on the slopes. If you overdo it during the day then come home and relax in the sauna and hammam to ease those aching muscles.
